Personalised pastoral support is key to the Abbey ethos

We strive to enable each and every student to realise increased self-awareness, independence, and to grow personally during his or her time at Abbey.

Every student who attends Abbey is specified a personal tutor, who not only monitors attendance but advises on day-to-day study and pastoral issues. Each student is actively involved in creating and monitoring their own Individual Learning Plan such that they are consulted in the setting and reviewing of academic and personal targets on a weekly basis.

A committed Head of Year is available to discuss any barriers to the achievement of potential in a confidential and sensitive manner. At Abbey we aim to empower each student to direct and monitor his or her own personal and academic growth, within the Abbey College ethos.
