Abbey’s Got Talent

Last night, burghers of Birmingham descended on the Custard Factory in Digbeth to celebrate the collective talent of the students and staff of Abbey College Birmingham and to raise money for the Tourette's Syndrome Association.

Amongst the night's performances were traditional Indian and contemporary western dance acts, a solo classical violin piece, an Abba rendition and a whole band performance. All delivered with flair and criticised (in good spirit of course) by the panel of 'Popstars'-esque judges.

The judges, headed by Principal Andrew Jedras, managed to entertainingly and authentically replicate the tensions and controversy generated by the likes of Simon Cowell and Sharon Osborne on television.

The show was followed by a charity auction, boasting a range of sporting paraphernalia and collectibles, which were quickly snapped up.

The event was arranged and hosted by members of the college council, who can be proud of their contribution and achievement. It was a fantastic night with some truly memorable performances, topping even last year's event. We look forward eagerly to the next one.
