Abbey College Birmingham Football team lose to a last minute penalty in the final!

Wow what a football tournament!! Teams from Moseley, Abbey College (two teams), Codsall (Stafford / Wolverhampton) Phoenix (Sandwell) and Yardley's all took part.  All the games were really close and any team could have qualified for the semi finals!

Game 1 v Yardley's: Lost 0-1            Game 1 v Codsall:  Lost 1-3

Game 2: v Phoenix: Won 1-0            Game 2 v Moseley B:  Won 2-0

Game 3: Moseley A: Won 1-0           Game 3 v Phoenix B:  Lost 1-3

Abbey College A team qualified for the semi-final and defeated Moseley B on penalties.  The final was against Codsall.  Abbey took an early lead with a great goal from Frank from long distance.  Codsall continued to press, however, Deji made some outstanding saves to keep Abbey in it.  With 30 seconds of the game left and victory in sight Codsall equalised!  In the Golden Goal extra time, both teams came close to scoring but with sudden death penalties looming, Codsall were awarded a penalty and scored to win.  The Abbey College boys were absolutely gutted!
