Abbey College Football Tournament - Wednesday 9th May

Abbey College hosted its final football tournament of the season on 9th May.  Teams from King Edward's Aston, Harborne Academy, Codsall and Small Heath School entered the event. Abbey, KE Aston and Small Heath entered two teams into the competition.

Abbey A had a bad start losing their first game to Small Heath School. They went on to win their next game and needed a win in their final group game and results to go their way, to progress to the semi-final. They got the result they needed, however, it was not enough to progress.

Abbey B also had a disappointing start, losing their first game. They went on to win their next game, and then draw their remaining games, which meant they qualified for the semi-final. They then came up against a strong King Edward's Aston team and were well beaten, but it was a very good effort to reach the semi-final.

Well done:

Abbey A:  Deji, Frank, Gurpreet, Ashraf and Ayo

Abbey B:  Adnan, Ken, Mathew, Rob, Jack, Mohammed and Sui

Congratulations to all Abbey College footballers on a successful season and to Thalat Mahmood for superbly organising the various football tournaments held this year.
