The Abbey College Music Society got off to a flying start this year with students from the UK, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and China all keen  to demonstrate their existing musical talents and discover those that they never knew they had.

Combining the musical tastes of such diverse cultural backgrounds is no easy thing and the current group of seven students have already shown extraordinary dedication and teamwork in establishing and maintaining the momentum of the group (and with no limelight-hogging!).  Some have joined with basic musical knowledge, some with none at all but all have shown that they are keen to learn.  In some cases, students are trying out instruments that are entirely new to them but their progress, after just a few weeks, has been excellent and it has been nice to see how willing they are to support and sometimes, teach each other.  We are looking forward to a performance in the near future.
