Abbey College hosted Small Heath School and Sixth Form Centre and Joseph Chamberlain College for an indoor triangular cricket festival at the National Indoor Arena.

Match One: Abbey College v Joseph Chamberlain College.

Joseph Chamberlain won the toss and decided to bat. The opening pair made a great start pushing the score up to 35 for no loss.  Once our boys got into their rhythm they started to pick away at the batters taking 3 quick wickets, with some excellent

bowling from Zain Oppal and Gurpreet.  Joseph Chamberlain scored 68 from 10 overs.

Gurpreet and Zain opened the batting for Abbey, making a fine start for our team reaching 29 for no loss.  Mohammed then came in to push the score up to 50 . With the final over remaining, Abbey required 9 runs to win. Mohammed  took us over the  finish line  with a great 4 to win the match!!!!

A great win for Abbey College against the reigning U19 champions!

Match 2 : Abbey College v Small Heath School

Abbey won the toss and decided to bowl. Small Heath opening pair made a fantastic start hitting 29 of the first two overs. We eventually bowled them out for 97. Unfortunately, the previous game took a lot out of the boys and we ended up being bowled out for 72.

Well done to the boys on a very pleasing performance:  Gurpreet, Zain Oppal, Mohammed, ZJ, Adnan and Sunny. Special thanks to Adnan and Sunny for filling in at the last minute!
