Imperial War Museum Trip

Early in October we visited the Imperial War Museum in London. We meet the teacher early in the morning at the train station and off we went. The trip down was nice to socialise and we discussed what we expected to see. The Holocaust exhibit was our first stop and the main reason for the trip. It really put the suffering and scale of the Holocaust into context for us. Six million people were murdered. It doesn't actually sound that much, but when you see just three hundred pairs of shoes that were taken from the Jews it really makes you think. The exhibition was really well structured and thought out, it helped us revise not only the Holocaust but also the build up to it and the Nazi policies pre-war. This was the best introduction to the topic, it really got me motivated to study the Nazis and now as I look at the key policies in lessons I have something to refer back to.
