15th November 2010

The Students appointed as Mentors this year are:

Asha Salim, Jia Li Lin, Satpal Jheeta, Rana Bannourah, Chinonso Uruakpa, Shyam Unarkat, Jasdeep Bath, Michel Wolkind, Priya Bajaj, Maria Villalobos and Emily Oakley.

The students have recently completed their training as mentors to assist the Student Support Network at Abbey College.

"The time spent learning the skills of mentoring have been interesting and very educative, I am now confident in being an effective mentor.  I believe this is a very efficient and important programme that can enhance the lifestyle of the mentee as well as the mentor.  It is a great way to  develop communication, organisational and social skills." Asha Salim.

"Mentoring has allowed me to expand on my listening skills and to be able to generate more ideas as to how to help people with their problems more effectively.  I think the mentoring program is very good as you learn so many skills which you can use in everyday life" Jasdeep Bath.
