Subject Overview

We have decided to deliver the OCR Nationals at Key Stage 4, as this provides the students with a number of practical yet transferable skills required to complete the GCSE curriculum.

Students will be expected to complete a number of units and produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating the various IT skills. A number of assignments will be completed in the academic year where the emphasis is on how IT can solve problems. Students will develop a wide range of application skills such as web design, manipulating video, spreadsheets and databases. The recent GCSE ICT results demonstrate that this is an increasingly popular and successful course with all the previous year's students achieving 100% Grade A.
