Sports Leadership Programme

All GCSE students undertake The Sports Leaders UK Award as part of their Physical Education progamme.  The Sports Leaders Award provides a nationally recognised leadership award and qualification that helps each student develop essential life skills such as organisation, motivation, communication and working with others as well as being helpful for future university applications. The award itself is practically based and students learn by doing; minimum written work is required. The assessment is made upon each student's ability to lead and demonstrate their leadership skills for a certain period of time, within a specific setting. For example, lead a warm up for a session, lead a particular element of a session or officiate a small sided game. Students don't need to need to excel in sports themselves, an interest in the chosen activity; a positive attitude and a willingness to volunteer are all that is required.
