Host Family
Host family homes are within a maximum travel time of 45 minutes from Abbey College by bus or train journey.
Each host family is carefully selected to ensure a friendly, safe and comfortable environment in which a student is able both to relax and study effectively. Each student has a single or twin study-bedroom. Bathroom facilities are usually shared. All host families are CRB checked.
Students staying with a host family will have breakfast and evening meals with the family, Monday to Friday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be provided on Saturday, Sunday and during Term Holidays. We always encourage a host family to welcome the student and to involve them in all aspects of family life. We emphasise that it is important they have family conversations with the student to help them improve on their English whilst living and studying in the heart of Birmingham.
Renting a Flat
Any student wishing to rent a flat in Birmingham can only do so if their parents have provided the College with written confirmation that they are allowed to do so.
Abbey College cannot provide details of letting agencies and legal advice concerning the renting of a flat; however, there are plenty of reliable estate agents throughout the City Centre and these are available from the internet.
