Established in 1992, Abbey College Birmingham quickly established a strong reputation among students, parents, schools and universities both nationally and internationally.

Many of our students aspire to enter the leading professions and the examinations results they achieve enable them to gain places on the most competitive degree courses, including entry to the Oxbridge colleges and the Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Optometry, Business and Law schools.

We focus on each student as an individual, offering each only the very best in teaching and educational resources. Our teachers are inspirational, warm and approachable. They are committed to examination success and enjoy an excellent working relationship with their students. We are a college noted for its friendliness and we treat our students as young mature adults.

As part of the Alpha Plus Group, Abbey College aims to maintain a 'gold standard' of educational quality. Classes are small, enabling teachers to provide a well supported and personalised educational experience, specifically tailored towards the individual student. The College offers excellent, modern teaching accommodation and resources.  It is located in the historic and fashionable Jewellery Quarter, one of Birmingham's safest and most architecturally attractive areas, close to the city centre.

While the emphasis at the college is on the pursuit of examination success, this is complemented by a thriving programme of extra-curricular activities and college events as part of our enrichment programme. We offer a wide range of subjects supported by a strong pastoral system and outstanding higher education and careers advice.

Currently we have around 150 students preparing for A-levels, an International Business Foundation Programme and GCSEs. 50% of students are from the local West Midlands area, the remainder are international students from a diverse range of countries including Albania, Burma, China, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Libya, Nigeria and Vietnam. Great efforts are made to ensure that all our students integrate quickly and learn about each other's cultures, so that they thoroughly enjoy their time at Abbey College as well as fulfil their academic potential. For students requiring residential accommodation, Abbey College has excellent facilities a short distance away at Studio 51 Accommodation, near Aston University.   This is staffed by our trained host parents who support students thoroughly.  Other students prefer to stay in homestay, a network of specifically chosen and fully screened host families.
